GT popping
All Year round

There is a reason the Giant Trevally took a place in our logo, and that's because we are passionate about fishing for these 'brutes of the ocean'

The GT popping from cairns to lizard island is world class with the great barrier reef being home to some incredibly big GT's. Even if you don't land a monster, our average size is still around the 12-20 kg mark and the numbers are there to get a few under your belt. The biggest GT our skipper has seen on the GBR in his years of topwater fishing, is 52kgs, so they're out there!

A big draw card for fishing topwater on the great barrier reef is it not only offers GT's, but a great diversity of species can be caughtweather it be drifting the reef flats for coral trout, long nose emperor, or red bass or casting large stick baits and poppers at deep shoals for your monster GT's and

Spanish mackerel, the great barrier reef has all of that and much more.

Our vessel 'Black Ops' has a large flat bow, which is perfect for casting. The bow rail is custom made for topwater charters. The boat only drawing 1.2 meters of water (1.2m from water to bottom of boat)  means we are certainly not restricted on getting up onto of the reef flats.

Jigging
all year round

Cairns has great grounds for jigging both onshore and offshore and we cater for all types of jigging.

There is a lot of inshore jigging grounds on wrecks and gravel patches,  which is perfect for slow pitch and micro jigging for species such as bludger trevally, GT's, golden trevally, cobia, coral trout and Dimond trevally just to name a few.

We then move off shore for our more mechanical jigging (speed jigging) chasing larger pelagic's like

mackerel, dogtooth tuna and all your bottom species.

Jigging can be quiet an art to be successful at your catch rate, but Jason has years of experience in jigging and has a lot of patience and knowledge to teach you correct techniques or perfect your technique if you so wish, to make your trip successful.

All of our jigging gear is the very best, we use CATCH fishing tackle, rods, reels and jigs. We have tested this gear for years now and it has not let us down.
