Fraser Island Blue Marlin & GT's
march-april

Fraser Island is one of the largest sand islands in the world. It has an amazing fishery, from off the tip of Fraser right out to the shelf. Fraser is very unique, and there are not many places in the world where an angler has the potential to get a grand slam - three billfish species, black, blue and stripe marlin, along with a topwater GT all in one day. Deep water jigging for king fish is also a favourite type of fishing for many avid anglers in this area. Switch baiting and lures is a very exciting way to catch a blue marlin on light tackle and is our preferred method in this area.

Anchorages are a stunning sight to see, tucked in behind Fraser Island, with large sand dunes as a back drop. Watching the sun set behind them with an afternoon drink is a great way to finish off the day.

To get a full experience we

recommend 3-5 day live aboard  trips (however 1 or 2 day trips are still perfectly ok). The extended trips give anglers the opportunity to experience it all. You can mix it up and chase blue marlin one day, go jigging for king fish and casting for GT's another and chase juvenile black marlin on another or focus on your favourite fishing without sacrificing time getting in and out of the port.

Charters leave from Hervey Bay, transfers from Brisbane air port (3.5hr drive) are available.
